October 9, 2019. OTTAWA. Ahead of the 2019 federal election, the Ukrainian Canadian Congress (UCC) is pleased to present the results of its survey of the leaders of Canada’s national political parties.

“On behalf of the UCC, I thank Canada’s party leaders for taking the time to respond to our survey, and in assisting us to ensure that Canadians make an informed decision on October 21,” stated UCC CEO Ihor Michalchyshyn. “The war Russia is waging on Ukraine is in its sixth year, and strong Canadian support for Ukraine’s territorial integrity and sovereignty is of paramount importance to the Ukrainian Canadian community.”

Federal Election 2019 – UCC Survey of Party Leaders

The UCC surveyed the leaders of Canada’s national political parties for their views and policy positions on six priorities of the Ukrainian Canadian community. The positions of the UCC on these policy priorities were presented in the UCC 2019 National Policy Guide, following extensive consultation and research, which included community engagement:

  • Strengthening Canada-Ukraine Defence and Security Relations
  • Supporting Democratic and Economic Reform in Ukraine
  • Ensuring Security and Dignity for Seniors
  • Welcoming Newcomers to Canada
  • Helping Our Culture Flourish
  • Fighting Online Hate and Disinformation

The Ukrainian Canadian Congress is non-partisan organization and does not endorse parties or candidates. The UCC presents this survey as part of our efforts to keep all Canadians informed about issues of importance in the federal election.
