About Us

The Ukrainian Canadian Congress (UCC) is the voice of Canada’s Ukrainian community.  The Congress brings together under one umbrella all the national, provincial and local Ukrainian Canadian organizations. Together with its member organizations, the UCC has been leading, coordinating and representing the interests of one of Canada’s largest ethnic communities (1.4 million) since 1940 and instrumental in shaping Canada’s social, economic and political landscape.

Mission Statement

The Ukrainian Canadian Congress (UCC) represents the Ukrainian Canadian community before the people and Government of Canada, promotes linkages with Ukraine and identifies and addresses the needs of the Ukrainian community in Canada to ensure its continued existence and development for the enhancement of Canada’s socio-cultural fabric.

What can you do during the Federal Election

Canada’s Federal Election will be held on Monday October 21, 2019. The UCC is pleased to present this 2019 Election Guide which highlights issues of important to our community.


The UCC encourages everyone to participate in the election.

Here’s how you can be involved:

  • Check with Elections Canada to ensure that you’re on the voters list and to re
  • Contact your local candidates, ask them questions provided in this guide.
  • Get involved in supporting a local candidate.
  • Attend a local all-candidates meeting or debate.
  • Make a plan for Election Day, Monday October 21, or plan for advanced voting opportunities if you will not be able to vote on Election Day.
  • Don’t vote alone. Help an elderly family member get to the polls, encourage a first-time voter to cast their ballot, or organize a shuttle for your neighbours.

The Ukrainian Canadian Congress (UCC) has launched 6 key policy priorities in advance of this year’s federal election in Canada. These policy briefs are the result of extensive consultation and research which included community engagement over the past several months.
